Producer/Director Corner

Mr. Brett A. Mayer

Mr. Brett A. Mayer serves as producer and director for FYTC.  For 24 years he has lived in the Fleetwood area and its local surroundings. His acting career (if you dare call it that) began at Fleetwood High School as a gangster in "Sugar," a cowboy in "Annie Get Your Gun," and a sailor in "South Pacific." None of these roles were by any means a leading role; however, Mr. Mayer enjoys the production aspect more than the acting aspect. He loves theatre, however, the one thing he is more passionate about than theatre is music.

Mr. Mayer graduated in June of 2000 from Fleetwood Area High School and began his pursuit of a college education. The first stop on this journey was Millersville University where he spent two years performing throughout Millersville's Music Department. Mr. Mayer transferred to Kutztown University in fall of 2002 to continue majoring in music education.  He is a proud Kutztown University graduate of the class of 2006 with a B.S. degree in Music Education.   Mr. Mayer has performed in various ensembles throughout his college tenure.  He is fluent on saxophone, flute, and clarinet.  He teaches private instrumental lessons in the summer for Fleetwood Area School District and has developed his own studio year round.  He has had the privledge of directing the Fleetwood Middle School Advanced Band a few years ago and Parkland Elementary School bands this past spring.  Mr. Mayer has taken various theatre design classes at Kutztown University along with being in the booth for KU's production of "Baby With the Bath Water".  He has designed set for "Round the World and Back Again" and assisted with "Undercover Romance" for the Fleetwood Middle School.  Mr. Mayer has produced "An Evening at the Lackluster Lemon", "Best Death of My Life", and "Vampire of the Vaudeville for FYTC.  He has also directed and produced "Something Big" and currently "It Started With Stanley" for FYTC.  Mr. Mayer also teaches theatre camp classes in the summer for FYTC and Tri Valley YMCA.

Among his other accomplishments, Mr. Mayer is a 2002 Tri Valley YMCA Spirit Award Winner, a 2003 YMCA of Reading and Berks County Champion for Youth Award Winner, and a 2005 Leaders Fellowship Award Winner. Mr. Mayer currently serves as the Office Manager at the Tri Valley YMCA.   He looks forward to working and being around those people that have got him where he is today. Mr. Mayer would like to thank his parents, sister, and Mr. Ken Blekicki for their love and support along this long, prosperous journey.
